Call for Art

I am collecting images done in simple materials--crayon, marker, pencil, collage—by women with substance histories—both those who are recovering and those who are continuing to struggle.

This is a series of 8 images done to simple instruction to be used in a teaching format to train professionals working with addicts (including those who are alcoholic).

out of the summery psyche, that kudzu of mind, the whole night rips her shirt
and left, he lingering, would run toward water.
after a pause in the slice of them he waited and a sound like night, but earlier, came through.
once there was a wilson or caplet or connor
and a free-for-all at the drunken county fair or last, the morning turned heel and run down on Sunday
not a soul worthy of saving in the mix or fun, the last shadow of something, slow on the corner
and gone.

this is so easy on the eyes! cool, clean. i love it!

it's been a long ride today.
i see the badlands but no matter how long i ride they don't move.

i'm taking a nap and will see you, my friends, tomorrow.
